I welcome students of all ages! Whether you’re a child just starting out or an adult looking to learn something new, my lessons are tailored to fit your individual needs and goals. The lessons are designed to be engaging and fun for anyone, regardless of age or skill level.
Absolutely not! My lessons are designed to cater to all skill levels, including complete beginners. If you’re just starting your guitar journey, I’ll guide you through the basics in a fun and relaxed manner, helping you gain confidence and build a solid foundation before diving into more advanced techniques.
No worries! I understand that many beginners aren’t sure where to start. During our first few lessons, we’ll explore different styles of music and guitar techniques, helping you discover what resonates with you. Whether it’s rock, metal, blues, or something else, I’ll help you find your unique musical voice.
I primarily offer one-on-one lessons to ensure that each student receives personalized attention and a learning plan tailored to their goals. This allows me to focus on your unique needs and provide you with the best possible guidance to progress as a guitarist.
Group lessons are available in certain locations given demand.
The frequency of lessons depends on your personal goals and availability. Generally, I recommend weekly lessons to ensure steady progress, but I also offer flexible scheduling to fit your needs. I’ll provide you with practice routines and resources to work on between lessons, so you continue making strides outside of our sessions.
With diligent practice, students can see results within a short space of weeks.
For your first lesson, all you need is a guitar (electric or acoustic) and a pick. If you have any specific songs or techniques you’re interested in, feel free to bring those along, but it’s not required. I’ll guide you through the rest and make sure you’re comfortable with the equipment and learning materials.
Yes, I absolutely help with songwriting! If you’re interested in writing your own music, I can teach you techniques to create riffs, build melodies, and structure your songs. I focus on practical skills that allow you to express yourself through the guitar, whether that’s playing covers or crafting original pieces.
Throughout our lessons, I’ll provide regular feedback on your playing, highlighting your strengths and areas for improvement. You’ll also receive tailored cheat sheets, song and chord charts, and practice routines to help track your progress. With a focus on building confidence, you’ll always know where you stand and how to keep moving forward.
Yes, I offer discounts for students who book lessons on a regular basis. For example, you can save money by booking a monthly package of lessons. I believe in rewarding commitment, and my goal is to make guitar learning as affordable and accessible as possible while maintaining a high-quality experience.
I understand that sometimes life can get in the way. If you need to cancel a lesson, please notify me as soon as possible. I generally request at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. In the case of a late cancellation or no-show, a fee may apply. I will work with you to reschedule if needed, ensuring that you continue progressing smoothly in your lessons.
Cancelling lessons is never a problem.
No problem! If you don’t have a guitar yet, I can lend you one for your first session. This will give you the chance to try out the instrument and decide if electric guitar is the right fit for you before committing to purchasing your own. I’ll also provide guidance on what to look for when choosing a guitar that suits your playing style and goals.
With a lifelong passion for music and guitar, I’ve built a career teaching and performing across various styles. I hold two diplomas in contemporary music and a Grade 8 distinction in guitar; a recognition that represents the highest level of proficiency in both technical skill and creativity. These qualifications, paired with years of hands-on experience, give me the expertise to help students at all levels achieve their musical goals.
I’ve spent decades refining my craft, teaching guitarists from beginners to advanced players, and have a deep understanding of how to make learning guitar a fun, rewarding experience. My approach focuses on tailoring lessons to each student’s unique goals, whether you’re looking to join a band, develop a personal style, or just have fun playing your favourite songs.
Let me help you unlock your full potential as a guitarist, whatever your aspirations may be.
